Tip 5: Tie the knot

t-shirt and tie

Making a dress more casual can be so easy with a fun T-shirt. Take a loose fitted top and wear it over your favourite maxi-dress. You can knot it around your waist to accentuate it. You can do this with a plain T-shirt or a graphic one. A merch T-shirt from the Rolling Stones for example would give your look a rock and roll touch. Always make sure your shirt matches one of the colours in the pattern of the dress or gives a nice contrast.

Tip 6: shirt combo

A shirt can be dressed up and dressed down, it all depends on which one you’re wearing and how you’re wearing it. Make your outfit a business-casual look by wearing a fancy shirt over your dress. This can be a tight one or a boyfriend style shirt. For a more Western look you can opt for a jeans shirt. To make the outfit more laidback, you can match your dress with a coloured shirt.

Transform your favourite dress into a skirt? Wear a T-shirt with a solid colour that matches with your dress and combine it with a belt from the same colour family. The monochrome look is still very in! The easiest belt for this look is one you tie around your waist, that way you’re sure it fits perfectly.

Jewellery is an essential part in finishing your outfit, but accessories go further than this. A hair scarf, layered jewellery, a big handbag or a summer hat are all options too. Each of these is a gamechanger for your outfit. Keep in mind that you never go overboard. Choose for either one or two statement accessories to avoid this.
