4 tips to beat the heat with your clothes
DURING A HEATWAVE
Summer is back! And so is the question “how do we dress for this time of the year?”. We have the answer for you and will share our heatwave secrets with you!

1. Choose the right fabric

Choosing the right fabric to wear is an important choice. During a heatwave we should avoid non-breathable tissues. We want to be comfortable and that one top that’s way too tight in that stretchable fabric is just not doing the trick.

We should choose materials that allow you to breathe like a linen or cotton fabric. These are good for cooling your body down because they can absorb sweat easily. A dress like this orange piece is a perfect match with a little sandal and is also totally summer proof!

2. Cover-up

Using sunscreen is a given because we don’t want to be sunburned, nor is it good for our skin. An even better protection of the sun is a thin layer of clothing. Light clothing will prevent us from getting a burned back, a solar stroke or an overheated body.

A dress that covers your back, shoulders and other sun-sensitive places is an ideal option. This dress has a lot of light colors which is perfect because they don’t absorb sun and heat like dark colors do. They reflect them instead.

3. Less is more

Everyday is legday! Covering up is one way to beat the heat but wearing less is also an option. Shorts are an easy go-to option when the weather is so hot. They always fit and are adaptable to every occasion. Choose a loose fitting pair of shorts that you can combine with a belt.

This one has a fashionable print and is perfectly wearable with a plain top. The other way around is also possible; a plain short with a printed top. Endless possibilities that are all just as comfortable and heatwave proof.

4. Maximum dress, Minimum heat

Maxi dresses are still in. Although this doesn’t seem like your first choice when it’s this hot, it’s actually perfect to beat the heat! When you choose the right material and a smart color you can enjoy the benefits of this kind of dress.

All the excess fabric causes more airflow, ideal for these heated days when you feel like there is no air to breathe. As additional benefit, a maxi dress forms a layer of protection for when night falls and the mosquitos are trying to get to you.

With these 4 tips it’ll be easier to find an outfit that is heatwave proof. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water and to put enough sunscreen on! Happy summer times!
