After weeks of showcasing her best baking skills, Julie was declared the winner of Bake Off Vlaanderen – a dream come true for this powerhouse with a knack for baking.
How did your win influence your life?
'It changed everything! It helped me turn my passion into my profession and suddenly a world of opportunities opened up for me, which I'm seizing with both hands. You see, winning the competition helped me conquer a lot of fears. It was a great confidence-booster!'
You must have had a lot of wonderful experiences. Do any stand out?
'I loved filming for Njam TV and soon I'll be realising my lifelong dream of publishing my own cookbook. It's the perfect combination of my two great loves: baking and writing. I'm collaborating with Denise Kuppens, who has incredible vegan alternatives for the classic baking recipes I'm currently working on.'
How would you define a powerful woman?
'To me, it's a confident woman who does her own thing. That's what I love about celebrity chef Nigella Lawson: she's a powerhouse of a woman with a sultry, feminine voice. You instantly feel like cooking or baking when you lay eyes on her.'
