step-by-step

Step by step, we at LolaLiza are working together in a number of ways towards a greener future.
By using less water during the production process; by using environmentally friendly fabrics for our clothes;
and also by keeping an eye on energy consumption in our stores, warehouse and head offices...

vision

Because, step by step,
we are thinking about tomorrow!

At LolaLiza we are doing everything we can today to develop the green mindset we need to achieve our ambitions tomorrow. The well-being of our planet is extremely important to us. With future generations in mind, step by step, we want to take actions to match our words – actions that will help our environment.

We know without doubt that it is a long journey which is why we have made plans that stretch over a number of years.

We have already started working to really raise awareness within LolaLiza, and have taken specific practical steps to help us reach our goals in 2025. By that time, we want to be making over 50% of our range with recyclable or natural fabrics. In addition, we are also aiming to keep our CO2 emissions as low as possible. Below you can find out more about the steps we are taking to achieve this.

The most important thing is that, together with our team and with you, we want to demonstrate our willingness to do whatever is necessary, step by step, to integrate our ecological mission with the inspirational vision behind LolaLiza.

Joachim Rubin
CEO LolaLiza

  • All (Belgian) stores and the warehouse in Wavre run on 100% green energy.
  • Thanks to the Memoco smart energy tool, we are already monitoring energy consumption in many of our stores. We are able to save electricity thanks to the slower start-up system that turns on the lights and air-conditioning at the start of the day.
  • We are working systematically to replace all the lamps in our stores with energy efficient lighting.
  • Wherever possible, we are installing automatic doors that can be closed whenever it’s too hot or too cold outside, meaning we use less energy for heating and air-conditioning.
  • We no longer print receipts. Instead, we send our clients proof of purchase via email. In addition, all of our offline promotional materials are printed on recycled paper.
  • In our warehouse in Wavre, as much as possible we re-use cardboard boxes from our shops for storing return items.
  • We pack all online orders in completely recycled plastic bags. Using bags instead of boxes also helps us transport less ‘air’, thus saving space in the delivery vans.
  • As far as possible we work locally. Our collections are produced in Europe, meaning they require less transport.
  • We avoid overstock by placing smaller orders, with shorter delivery times. Stock from previous collections gets sold through the outlet, or we give it away to charity. No clothing items ever get burnt!
  • During the production of our collections, we use water sparingly and we also use a lot of environmentally friendly materials. Want to find out more? Check out

like there is no tomorrow

As a retailer we are very aware that the world of fashion moves fast. This means that clothes production is not always an environmentally-friendly process.

At LolaLiza we are working step by step towards environmental goals including a greener production process.

We already work to avoid overstock, so we sell items from previous collections in the outlet. We also organise regular collections of old clothes (regardless of which brand), which are then picked up by a non-profit, Terre asbl.

Almost nothing is wasted at Terre asbl. 56% of all old clothing items are reused while 27% get recycled. Together, this helps us reduce the waste mountain!
